Flood Relief – Finding Higher Ground – Treaty 7 Benefit Concert

In response to the recent flooding in southern Alberta, I wanted to highlight a two-day benefit concert event, which includes a performance by a Juno award-winning artist. The event is being run Friday and Saturday, June 28 and 29, by the Tsuu T’ina to raise money for affected Treaty 7 First Nations communities in southern Alberta. The concert will be held at the Buffalo Run Golf Course at Anderson Road.

Press Release: June, 26, 2013, Tsuu Tina Nation – An exciting line up of musicians and musical acts will be helping Tsuu T’ina raise money for impacted Treaty No.7 First Nations devastated by recent flooding.

“Communities across Southern Alberta have been devastated by the floods and Treaty No. 7 First Nations were not spared. I am proud of Nation leadership, administration and volunteers who have worked hard to raise money to help our Treaty No. 7 neighbours,” said Chief Roy Whitney. He added “All monies raised will go towards the reconstruction of the other Treaty No. 7 communities.”

All Calgarians and area residents are invited to contribute to the cause by attending this two day event this weekend. For those who can’t attend we encourage them to contribute at Peace Hills Trust through the Southern Alberta First Nations Relief Fund.

Indigenous entertainers from across Canada like Juno award winner Susan Aglukark and a host of other talented musical acts listed in the attached schedule of events.
